Smoke Detectors are to be installed in every sleeping area, every room in the path of the means of egress from the sleeping area to the exit door, basements and habited attics. Advances in technology allow you to interconnect smoke detectors so if one sounds, every one in the house will sound.  We can provide this service to you.

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters or GFCI Receptacles are receptacles designed to use in wet locations to protect you from electrocution.  It monitors the amount of current flowing from hot to neutral.  If an imbalance is detected, the GFCI shuts power to the receptacle in as little as 1/30th of a second.  the National Electric code requires these to be used in kitchens, bathrooms, basements and outdoors.

Consumers Beware:

If you are gathering multiple estimates, please be aware of unscrupulous Contractors who are not legitimately in Business, not Licensed and Insured, and use some sub par materials from big box stores such as Home Depot and Lowes.  Electrical Licensing is not required in NYS and is rather governed by individual Municipalities.
